An extensive christmas dinner for everyone
Christmas is the time of year when the majority of people plunder the supermarkets en masse to buy as many treats as possible for the Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, a Christmas like this is not possible for everyone. Also in the Netherlands there are enough people who cannot afford an extensive Christmas dinner.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the number of households that had to live on a low income for four years or more has increased further. In 2016, 8.2 percent of all households had to live on a low income. Of these, a total of 292,000 underage children lived in a household with a low income in 2016.
Reason for the Flexim Foundation to organize a Christmas dinner in cooperation with employees of Flexim and various partners at the end of 2018, aimed at people living in the Netherlands on the poverty line. Preparations are in full swing, location and further details will follow as soon as possible.
